Cutting: The Cutest Lion

The Activity:

Children create a snake using contraction paper and pipe cleaner.

This is a great way to practice cutting on the line as well as strengthening hands with a hole puncher and then lacing!

Cutting Skills: Snail Cutting

• 2 small wiggle eyes

The Activity:

Cut out circles and stick them together to make a teetering snail!

 

Goals:

Children practice the challenging skill of cutting out circles. The use of stickers in this activity works on neat pincer skills while giving them a visual cue where to cut.

Cutting Skills: Mermaid Tail Flip and Snip

Children now learn to snip paper with the correct position of their hand using scissors.

Cutting Skills: Learning to Cut Circles

The Activity:

By placing stickers around the circle, children work on neat pincer grasp. They use the stickers as a visual to know where to cut.

 

Goals:

Children will practice cutting skills with particular attention to cutting out a circle. They will learn to coordinate both hands simultaneously.
