Fine Motor: Build a Bug

You will need:

• Build a Bug PDF

• Beads

• Play dough

• Pipe cleaner pieces

• Wiggle eyes

• Strips of paper

• Scissors

 

 

The Activity:

Children pick a card and build a bug according to directions given on the card.

 

Goals:

This is a great way for children to learn how to follow directions. It involves counting skills, snipping skills and using our little fingers to manipulate objects.

What you need to do:

Step 1: Make a ball for your bug’s body
Step 2: Pick a card and follow the directions on the card
Step 3: Count out the correct number of beads, pipe cleaner, eyes
Step 4: Snip the correct number of paper snips for legs
