Your lesson

Brain Break: Balloon Activity

You will need:

• 1 green balloon

• 1 blue balloon

• Sharpie

The Activity:

Children tap one balloon and don't allow it to fall to the ground. Then they can challenge themselves by adding a second balloon. Children then write letters on one balloon and tap t while naming a letter that they see.

Goals:

Children work on eye hand coordination skills. Tapping balloons is an easier way for young children and those that find ball skills challenging, to improve their ball skills.

Are you ready to learn?

What you need to do:

Step 1: Blow up two balloons
Step 2: Tap the first balloon and don’t let it touch the floor.
Step 3: As you get comfortable, add a second balloon!
Step 4: Write letters on one balloon and tap it. As you tap it name a letter, name a sound or name a word that begins with that sound/letter.
Step 5: You can also play with a (furry) friend!
