Learning Corner: Rainbow Letter Match

The Activity:

Rainbow letter match is a great way to practice letter recognition and sounds! In this activity, children are asked to find a letter and then, place a button on top of it.

 

Goals:

Picking up small objects such as buttons helps promote a neat pincer grasp. When combining this activity with the PDF rainbow letter match, children are able to practice letter recognition and sounds and visual scanning.

Are you ready to learn?

What you need to do:

Step 1: To prepare the tray. Cut out a circle on the lid of a cardboard box. also cut out the circle on the printout. Line it up to the hole in the box. Write letters E,F,H,I,L,T on the balls.
Step 2: Balance the balls on the tray and try to drop one ball at a time through the hole
Step 3: Whichever ball falls through, pick it up, name it and practice tracing/copying it on paper
