Learning Corner: Feed the Dog a Bone Letter Recognition

The Activity:

Learn your letters by feeding the dog matching letter bones! In this activity, children are asked to match uppercase and lowercase letters and work on their sounds.

Goals:

This dog bone activity works on recognizing letters and sounds. For older children we can use to match letters to sounds or to match upper and lower case letters to each other.

Are you ready to learn?

What you need to do:

Step 1: To prepare print out the Feed the Dog PDF on Card stock paper. Laminate if you would like to reuse this resource.
Step 2: Stick the face of the dog to an empty box using tape.
Step 3: Use chopsticks or clothes pins to make a match with upper and lower case letters and feed the two bones to the dog
Step 4: Name your matching letters
Step 5: For older children, you can write down your letter
