Fine Motor: Here’s the Scoop Playdoh Ice Cream Shoppe

You will need:

• Ice cream Menu PDF

• Play doh in white, green, pink and blue

• Pony beads (for candy)

• Small pieces of pipe cleaners (for sprinkles)

• Mini blue pompoms (for blueberries)

• Red pompoms for cherries

 

The Activity:

Children pretend to be at the ice cream shoppe. They build ice cream with toppings based on what others ask them.

 

Goals:

This activity aims at strengthening little fingers with the use of play dough. It also works on following directions, sequencing and motor planning skills.

What you need to do:

Step 1: You can pick from the ready made menu cards or from the build an ice cream menu.
Step 2: Give someone the menu and ask them to “order” an ice cream creation which you will build.
